I moved to Germany a couple of years ago to pursue my Ph.D. studies in Göttingen. Afterward, I met my husband, got married, and settled in Düsseldorf. Now we have three super cute kids.
I studied Bioinformatics, which is relatively a new domain that combines computer science, artificial intelligence, statistics, and biology.
I work as a bioinformatician at Universitätsklinikum Düsseldorf at the pediatric oncology department. I analyze the genomes of kids with cancer and their healthy parents in an attempt to find possible mutations that could act as drivers for cancer. Such studies aid the medical team in finding personalized treatments for children with cancer, and establishing efficient genetic counselling sessions with the parents.
