I went on a workshop this week from Anna Seidel, Coach, all about my word for the year.
A life-time expat currently living in Germany, Anna is passionate about supporting parents to raise strong, healthy, resilient children while moving internationally. This starts with looking after the mothers. She coaches & mentors expat moms to embrace their passions, hopes and dreams, wherever they find themselves. She facilitates workshops for expat families to grow closer.
An engineer, business woman, mom of three and cross-cultural partner, Anna has learned to adapt to constant change. While it might not always be easy, forward is the only possible direction.
Word of The Year Workshop
Anna took us through a great process and work book on reflecting what happened in 2021, what went well and what improvements we would make.
We then looked at a spiral of thoughts as we worked our way to the centre and our word for 2022.
Once you have the word, you can journal about what the word means to you and how you will feel in December with the word at the centre of your year.
Anchor or Umbrella?
Anna talked about your word being an anchor to help you centre yourself in 2022. Or an umbrella word to cover all of the year that you can fit a lot of ideas underneath.
My Word? Unstoppable!
My word was unstoppable. It sang to me when I saw it in the list. It shone out. It glowed. It moved me. Yes! This was the word that meant NOT being worried. This was my word that described getting out of my head and my anxieties or nagging doubts.
This word will prompt me, every time I worry about changes to COVID restrictions or planning for a holiday. We will plan. We will push and we will know we are unstoppable.
Each time I doubt my German or my brain or by business, I can look at my word and know I am unstoppable. I will reflect, pause and think but I won’t quit.
Set backs are just more chances to show that I am unstoppable!
This word is my umbrella for adventure and fun. This word is my anchor in stormy times. It can be my ok, move on from difficult conversations or challenges.
I think of my word as a kite to keep me in the wind and flying high with energy and determination!
I feel energised, happy, satisfied and adventurous for more from 2022.
