Today I went to St.George’s to talk to their community about the International Women in Business Düsseldorf network. I told them something about my story and how I started the network and then a little about Amaia, Catherine and Agnieszka’s stories and how we all got here.
Then, I shared some of the amazing success stories we have had within the network – the jobs we shared with each other; the small businesses we have helped establish; the professionalism of the women and even the shoulders to cry on and support as working women.
I told them about the workshops we hold and what we have planned for 2018/19. I showed them pictures of you all having a glass of wine in your hand! We talked about the book club and the website.
Finally, I asked them to turn to each other and talk to the next woman about what they were in a “previous life” – what they had done, what they had achieved and what they still dreamt of doing. One rule – no talking about children! I heard some amazing stories from women that I have known for 3 years from the rugby fields,…Did I know she was a lawyer?
We must talk about what we did and do and dream. We must talk to each other and help each other. That’s why this networks exists. Women helping women. We are out there. We are listening! Please feel free to comment.
