Update from St. George’s

You are here: Home / News From Us / Update from St. George’s

November 9, 2021

Today we went to St. George’s school to present to their parents about iwibdus. Here’s the report back from Karrie Bishop and Bridget Fields. Thank you for presenting!

I think we had about 18 women attend; a mix between military spouses with significant career gaps, expat wives who are on hiatus from their careers for a few years, German ladies who are wanting to connect with international groups to improve their English (I think this group made up about a third of the audience, very different to the last session I was part of), mum-trepreneurs and women who are currently employed here in Dusseldorf.

They were engaged and excited about connecting with other women in the verein, and from their reactions I think they each left the presentation feeling like they had something to gain from getting involved.

If you would like to know more about being involved in iwibdus please contact us on hello@iwibdus.com

Karrie is one of our mentoring team leads. She is from Australia and is in Dusseldorf for her husband’s job but loving travelling around Europe and being part of the iwibdus community. She is an amazing volunteer and we love that she found us!

Bridget is from Ireland and had lived in Dusseldorf for a few years before she came across iwibdus from a talk at St. George’s. She didn’t think that the group was right for her until she realised she could volunteer rather than find a job. She is an essential part of the events team and she is Queen of Christmas (she already has her tree up!)
